Summer coming to an end calls for cocktails. And what better, really, than a good, old-fashioned hard lemonade? We amped up the volume a little, tossing in a generous spoonful of vanilla and a nice turn of rum. The result is a summery cocktail fit for just a little more poolside sipping.

It’s time to put the beach towels away and start thinking about back-to-school. The parents are rejoicing – the kids are whining (but secretly they’re happy to be seeing their schoolmates again).
As promised, we’re giving you a quick overview of what’s new at Adea and how you can prep for the fall season.

Ripe tomatoes are one of the best things about summer. And we've still got a little bit of time to enjoy them before the season ends and we are stuck in the depths of winter. I’ve always believed that the “year” actually goes from one September to the next. Back-to-school and fall fashion forecasts are great. Who really cares about cold, gray January?
With this thought in mind, I started perusing the web, newspapers and magazines (I like to read the hard copy of a publication) to see what exciting fashion trends are in the works for Fall/Winter 2014.
I duly noted that fleecy shearling and cozy knits are in (always a natural for cooler weather) and that furs are back. Did they ever really go away? But then I hit a wall, because the incredible number of designers and their take on fashion totally overwhelmed me. Where were the nailed-down forecasts?

One of the beauties of summer, besides the long days of sunshine, is the sales that pop up at many of our favorite stores. While sales often sound quite exciting, and I’m the first one to say I love a great deal, what can often happen after a sale shopping spree is the dreaded buyer’s remorse.
Here are some questions to ask yourself that will hopefully help ensure you walk away with bargains you will love for seasons to come.

As summer winds down, the need to savor every last drop of warmth and sunlight becomes inevitable. And while freezing and canning is popular today, nothing really compares to a fresh bit of pineapple or a really ripe peach. In order to capture the most of summer, we've turned to smoothies. This tropical chia fruit smoothie is ideal for using up fruity goodness. Click below to get the easy recipe.

For years, we’ve heard that tired old adage, “no wearing of white after Labor Day.” Thankfully, times have changed and this boring rule has disappeared.
But, how did it start and why did it last so long? Traditionally, wearing white in the summer was simply a way to keep cool. But in the 1930s, well-off city folk headed out of town to summer resorts wearing white linen suits and Panama hats. The practicality of wearing white had morphed into a status symbol of the wealthy.

August is National Goat Cheese Month and we can't think of a better thing to celebrate. Goat cheese has really stolen the scene these days, going from weird and exotic to an ingredient that everyone wants on their plates. We've turned it into a fun version of a lollipop, coating it in pecans. Perfect for tossing on crackers or eating off the stick!
